Work Experience at our Dysart Delights Cafe

Happy National Careers Week!

Our Post-14 students are gaining valuable work experience by running their very own pop up café which is open every Monday morning between 10-11.30am in Christ Church on Surbiton Hill.

Dysart Delights cafe is a great way for the students to gain valuable skills. They bake mouth-watering cakes at school which they sell to their customers along with a range of hot drinks. Students are involved in every step of the process from greeting customers, checking their orders, serving the drinks and cakes as well as taking payment. They even wash up and clean the tables afterwards.

This hands-on approach to learning is not only helping our students to build practical skills but also to boost their confidence. Parents have reported that students are transferring their new skills such as washing up to home.

We are very grateful to Christ Church for allowing us to use their facilities and would encourage everyone to come and visit our students in the Dysart Delights café soon.
