We are open with a phased return of pupils over the summer term keeping in line with risk assessments based on latest government guidelines.

As always, we are here to support all our families. If you have any queries please contact us on dysart-office@dysartschool.org and we will respond to you urgently.

The Patchwork Project

The Patchwork Project –

Coming together…

As we experience these unusual and extraordinary times together, many of us have never felt so far apart.
Dysart School is launching a project to reconnect through the power of creativity.

What to do…

Over the Summer term, we invite all pupils, parents and staff to paint, draw, collage, sew or colour an image of your choice on the theme of ‘HOPE’ onto a piece of cloth, card or paper 21x21cm square (the length of the short side of an A4 sheet of paper).

Please send us a photo of your finished square to eburch@dysartschool.org, alongside your name and a short description (or remain anonymous if you’d prefer).
We will share your square on the school website and will connect them together to create a virtual patchwork quilt which you will be able to see grow online.

Look after your squares carefully…

Once the coronavirus has passed and we are able to return to ordinary patterns of life, we will ask you to bring your individual squares into school so that we can connect all of your patchwork pieces together.

This will create a physical display that symbolises the hope and resilience of our community at Dysart and act as a reminder of the challenges that we have faced and overcome together.

You are rightly proud of your work around pupil wellbeing, and ensuring pupils are ready for learning.  This has enabled you to establish a calm and purposeful learning environment for pupils with considerable needs.
