Dysart is a provision for pupils who have a range of severe and complex learning disabilities, from within the Royal Borough of Kingston and beyond.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how student perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the schools self-evaluation.
At Dysart we strive to provide a curriculum that is flexible, exciting and personalised that fits each and every one of our pupils rather than making our pupils fit the curriculum.
We see the mental health and wellbeing (MHWB) of our pupils, families and staff as a key priority at Dysart.
We endeavour to maintain clear communication between school and parents/carers.
At Dysart School we want all of our pupils to feel a part of both the school and the wider community.
At Dysart, we recognise the important role we play in supporting local provisions to fully include pupils, enabling those pupils to better access the curriculum and to achieve their full potential
At Dysart we benefit from the skill and expertise of a number of multi-agency colleagues. These include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, School Nurse and Educational Psychology. These professionals are employed by Achieving for Children (AfC) and Your Healthcare, in addition to which we employ our own Music Therapist. The multi-agency team works closely with the school in providing a holistic approach to ensure therapy is embedded throughout the curriculum and beyond.
The school also works closely with AfC’s Social Care Team, Disabled Children’s Team and Adult Learning Disability Services. These high quality relationships support integrated working that benefit our children and their families.
