Sports Day Fun

Well done to everyone who took part in our sports days on two very hot afternoons. We were  pleased that so many parents and carers were able to come along to support pupils at both the Upper School event on Wednesday 13th July and the Lower School sports day on Thursday 14th July. Thank you to everyone who donated via the Just Giving link and helped raise well over double our target for the Sports Relief charity.

All pupils in Upper School took part together in a walk, run or wheel race around their local community; supported by families and the Dysart Team. Pupils then took part in multiple group and individual sports day games such as Goalball, walking football, curling and beanbag shot put, showing off their skills and some surprising competitive streaks. Afterwards students and families cooled off with ice lollies to celebrate everyone’s effort and participation across this afternoon’s events.

The Lower School Sports Day started with a warm-up in the playground and then each class set off with family and staff supporters on a lap of school grounds. At the finish line on the school field children were given ice lollies and there were plenty of soft drinks to help everyone cool down.

After a short break, classes rotated around the activities which included an egg and spoon race, the water relay race, beanbag shot put, curling and a sack race.

Everyone tried their hardest and it was lovely to see the classes cheering each other on. Both days were fantastic fun and a great opportunity for everyone to come together in the sunshine.

You are rightly proud of your work around pupil wellbeing, and ensuring pupils are ready for learning.  This has enabled you to establish a calm and purposeful learning environment for pupils with considerable needs.
