Parent Workshops

We have lots of informative and exciting events taking place at Dysart this term, details of which are listed below! To reserve a place at a workshop, or if you have any suggestions of workshops etc that you would like us to organise in the future, please contact us at newsletter@dysartschool.org

Previous Workshops
Wednesday 3rd October at 1:30pm
: Promoting Positive Behaviour in the Home. A workshop led by Jack and Claire with simple but effective strategies that promote positive behaviour.

For those parents who were unable to attend, Jack and Claire have produced a short video covering some of the points from their workshop a video here.

Monday 5th November at 1:30pm Promoting Physical Activity with your Child. Alba and Aimee offering simple ideas and strategies to support your child with physical activity.

For those parents who were unable to attend, Alba and Aimee have uploaded the Powerpoint presentation for their workshop which can be downloaded here

Monday 12th November at 1:30pm: Online Safety in the Home. A repeat of the workshop run by Simon Gale in the Summer with ideas and tips on how to ensure your child stays safe when using internet-enabled devices.


Upcoming Workshops

Thursday 22nd November 2018 at 9:30am: Resources Making Workshop. An open-door workshop led by some of our therapy assistants, where any visual resources / timetables / symbols etc that you feel would benefit your child at home can be produced. 

Thursday 24th January 2019 at 9:30am: Calming Strategies that Promote Positive Mental Health. A workshop led by Rachel, Magda, and Jo with a focus on tips and ideas for supporting your child when they get stressed or anxious.

: Reducing Anxiety Through Structure. Workshop led by Leigh and Jo giving simple ways your child’s anxiety can be managed through increased structure in the home.

The school is a calm and happy place. As a result, pupils enjoy school, are keen to learn and attend well.
