We were delighted to welcome families, staff and supporters to celebrate the unveiling of two fantastic new additions to the school’s outdoor space, the outdoor gym and the Oasis.
The Oasis is a sensory garden complete with water features, lighting and seating for the pupils to enjoy. The refurbishment was made possible by generous donations from the Saxton family and the Rotary Club. The John Saxton Sensory garden was set up in memory of John Saxton who was a governor and good friend of Dysart School by his family after he passed away in 2002. This space has been refurbished as our new Oasis sensory garden with the help of another generous donation from the Saxton family.
The outdoor gym which has been installed on the school field provides pupils with exercise equipment which includes a rower and pull up bars.
Both the Oasis and outdoor gym are already being enjoyed by our students and we hope these spaces continue to support them in their outdoor learning, regulation and movement. Thank you to all those involved in providing funding and getting these spaces ready for our school community to benefit from.
We are particularly grateful to the Saxton family and the Rotary Club for their generosity.
