New playground equipment for Apollo 2, Latchmere
As students returned to Apollo 2, Latchmere, after the half term break they were thrilled and very curious to see a delivery arrive on Tuesday lunchtime.
As the students went off to lunch, the workmen started to put together the pieces which turned into some amazing new playground equipment which had been donated by funds raised at the CiaO Foundation lunch in January.
As you can see from the pictures below
, smiling faces show that the climbing wall and basketball hoops were an immediate hit with the students and it has made such a difference to our outside space. We also have a huge sandpit, which is awaiting sand, and a weighing scales with buckets. Not only will this add to the fun of being outside but will work on gross motor skills, climbing and balance, throwing and catching, taking turns and measuring.
