My Cartoon Workshop inspires learners

Some of our learners took part in a My Cartoon workshop run by the Three Discovery Programme in school. They couldn’t wait to get their hands on the iPads and start the workshop where they had the opportunity to make their own cartoons using the Toontastic app.

The app allows users to chose a setting for the cartoon from a host of options including a pirate ship, under the sea, an ancient temple filled with treasures and the more everyday setting of a classroom. Once they had chosen the setting the learners were able to pick characters and add in effects such as animal encounters, canon fire and sea creatures. They could also add narration, sounds and music to help bring their cartoons to life.

It was a fantastic opportunity to get creative and develop digital skills in a fun and interactive way which enabled the learners to use their own voice.
