Erin takes Gold at the British Weightlifting Open 2021 Competition

We were very excited to hear that our very own Erin Barton, won a Gold Medal in the Women’s 71kg category at the British Weightlifting Open 2021 competition at Bangor University this weekend.

Erin works as an Emotional Regulation Support Practitioner at Dysart School and has been a member of the team for over 5 years. She told us that she had three attempts at each of the weights, ‘I got an 85kg Snatch and 110kg Clean and Jerk giving me a combined total of 195kg which put me in first place and gave me a Gold medal’ she told us. ‘I will now be competing at the British Championships in January’

Amazing news Erin – well done.

You are rightly proud of your work around pupil wellbeing, and ensuring pupils are ready for learning.  This has enabled you to establish a calm and purposeful learning environment for pupils with considerable needs.
