ACS Volunteers revamp outdoor spaces
We were excited to host a team of volunteers from Air Charter Service who came into school on the INSET day and blitzed two of the outdoor spaces. The 11 employees swapped the office to come into school and replenish the sand pit and assemble benches and planters ready for our learners to enjoy this summer term.
Air Charter Service has a long history of supporting the school through fundraising activities, but this was our debut volunteering day. For many of their staff it was also their first visit into school, and they were interested to see classrooms and the outside spaces.
The visit coincided with the start of National Volunteers Week, a time to get out, give back and support local communities. It was a fantastic day getting to know our neighbours and generous supporters while enjoying fresh air and exercise at the same time.
Leigh Edser, Principal of Dysart School, thanked the volunteers saying, “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to ACS for giving their time on Monday to support the enhancement of our outdoor spaces. Their hard work and generosity have made a real difference to our school environment. We are extremely grateful for their support, and our learners will greatly benefit from and enjoy the equipment and spaces they have helped to improve.”
Katie Ivie, Group HR Director and head of the ACS Charity Committee, said: “Our team of volunteers had a fantastic afternoon helping to upgrade a section of the Dysart School’s outdoor space. It was a pleasure giving up time to support one of our charity partners, collaborating with the school team and making a positive difference for such an inspiring community.”
Sarah-Jane, Head of Fundraising at Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust who organised the day said, “Air Charter Service are our valued Corporate Partner and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued support of Dysart School – their partnership is making a real and lasting impact.”
