Dysart takes online safety very seriously. You can read our Online Safety Policy on the Policies page.
We have regular Online Safety sessions for those pupils who are able to meaningfully access social media. With support from OHCAT’s Digital Learning department, pupils use Shared Space – a specially created social media platform that teaches pupils how to keep safe when they use the internet in a carefully-structured sequence of sessions.
We also hold regular workshops for families, providing them with clear, practical, tips and advice about ways they can ensure their child stays safe when using internet-enabled devices at home. We know from family surveys that not all of our pupils use social media so we host regular workshops to provide parents with strategies that they can use to ensure their child stays safe when using tablets or phones outside of school. Feedback from these workshops has been very positive and more are planned for the future.
Please use the information guides and links below to help keep your child safe online.
