14-19 Cafe at Dysart

On 6th December, pupils from Dysart’s 14-19 Provision organised and ran a wonderful café in the school hall. Pupils took orders using specially-made cards and then brought the food and drink to the tables for staff to enjoy.

On this occasion, the ‘customers’ were all Dysart staff. However, in the new year the plan is to link the café with parent workshops so that parents can enjoy a nice cup of tea and biscuit, served by our amazing pupils, after attending a workshop.

The work forms part of the school’s wider Careers provision, providing pupils with a range of meaningful and relevant ‘real life’ experiences to ensure that they are supported to live with as much independence as possible when they are adults.

You are rightly proud of your work around pupil wellbeing, and ensuring pupils are ready for learning.  This has enabled you to establish a calm and purposeful learning environment for pupils with considerable needs.
